Our approach
Curriculum Based Facilitation
The Empowerment Curriculum is a powerful facilitation tool with 4-six week phases of dynamic lesson plans built on the 7 pillars of the Covenant of Peace.
Strength Based
We approach all of our engagement, relationships and programming with a strengths-based perspective and truly believe the youth are our future leaders and the strengths we see in your youth are innovation, resilience, creativity, leadership and ability.
Peer Support Model
We embody a commitment to engage family members as the most important assets in a young person’s life and to build the leadership skills of students through peer coaching and support.
Community Based
Our model is community based and driven and relies on community leaders, experienced youth advocates and individuals with relevant life experiences to engage youth and families
CREDIBLE MESSENGER
GROUPS
- Groups are Facilitated by trained Credible Messenger professionals
- Offers four (4) phases of curriculum with groups meeting twice weekly for six-weeks per phase (can be tailored to fit the needs of who we’re providing our services to)
- Groups take place in community, at school/ after school, within group homes and institutions
MENTORSHIP
AND SYSTEM NAVIGATION
Youth Mentorship and Systems Navigation services focuses on building personal relationships with youth and young adults (YYA). YYA are connected to Navigators who assist them in identifying and obtaining their goals and helping them to become empowered along their pursuit. Our motto is: Do it for them, do it with them and watch them do it!
- Helps youth and young adults impacted by the criminal injustice system to navigate systems and address trauma in order to remove barriers that intersect with their ability to truly live their lives. A system is defined as a structure that interferes with an individual’s or family’s ability to not only survive but THRIVE and excel.
CREDIBLE MESSENGER
Trainings
Offers an intensive 40-hour Credible Messenger training involving concepts such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Healing Centered Engagement, facilitator preparation and more…
Includes curriculum development and on-going follow-up and trainings
WORK AND LEARN
SESSIONS
Work-and-Learn Sessions and Professional Development consists of small and large group discussions and activities, presentations, and visual arts to train and further equip scholars, educators, and other professionals to maximize positive impact in their respective agencies, communities and diverse service areas. Trainings and events are tailored to meet identified goals and objectives.
